Study Break: Advice For The College Freshmen

The first year of college can often be a difficult adjustment for many freshmen students.

Outside of the unknown expectations of college exams, there is the shock of living in dormitories, developing new relationships and simply being away from home and familiar surroundings.

The pressure can be overwhelming, so keep these 3 simple keys in mind to help survive the college freshmen transition:

• Enjoy The Time
  The stress of new responsibilities, exams, finances, etc. can often feel overwhelming. Don’t forget that you are in school to grow in many ways. Enjoy each day even when it is stressful.

• Experience All Of College
  Classes and grades are very important, but don’t overlook the social aspect of college life.  There might not be many opportunities as unique as the college atmosphere to participate in so many different experiences.  Make it a point to experience many of them.

• Embrace ‘Study Breaks’
  When you need a break – take it, but really embrace the break. Go running, participate in extra-curricular activities, get away from books and simply enjoy a moment laughing with friends. Make it a priority not to think about school and just enjoy the moment.

College can be an exciting time to discover new experiences, and one of those experiences most college students can agree on, is ‘The Care Package’.
