The Power of ‘I Love You’

It’s a phrase that we often take for granted, ‘I love you.’ We say it to our parents, we say it to our spouses and we often say it to our children. But many times, our mouths are full of food or we are quickly headed out the door as we say these important words.

Statistics show that in our commercialized world, when parents want to spend more money on their children, what the children really want is to spend more ‘time’ with Mom and Dad. They want to feel loved by affection.

Most parents cannot even think about not wanting to provide the best for their children, but imagine not being able to say ‘I love you’ to them. The reality is that many parents don’t get this opportunity. It might be due to a host of reasons ranging from military involvement to incarceration, but it should give us all a wake up call on how much we need to cherish these precious opportunities.

There is power in the words ‘I love you’ that cannot be denied when you ask a child beaming with life. We feel it from God when we pray, we feel it on the alter when we gaze in our spouses eyes and are children feel it as they grow and hear those words.

Here are (5) steps to make sure that your children feel the power:

1. Tell them daily

2. Be there when they need you

3. Send them letters | packages
